Beginning Band – This course is for the student who has not completed one full year of band.
Advanced band – This course is for the student who has successfully completed one or more years of band. These courses include reading music, rhythm, scales, and sight-reading, care of equipment, concert and instrument performances, and special requirements to show mastery of musical knowledge. Students must buy their own instruments and purchase a methods workbook. Most instruments cost $700.00 +. Band fee is $50.00
Band - Jazz
Elective ensemble that focuses on the history, techniques, and fundamentals of Jazz. The “Jazz Band” performs at several events on and off campus during the year. Jazz Band members are selected from director approval. Jazz Band must be taken as a second band class. Band students may not take Jazz Band in place of their “concert” class. Non-band students may be allowed to audition for Jazz Band for guitar or bass guitar.
