Visual Arts at ACMS focuses on the basics of drawing, painting with various media, collage, fiber, and other artistic techniques. The science of color mixing is stressed, along with technical art vocabulary and major historic artists. Students work on various art projects in class daily, producing between 12-15 finished pieces and many more practice works during a semester. This artwork is displayed throughout the school hallways all year, and showcased at a system-wide Fine Arts show in the spring. All students are welcome and encouraged to take art as an elective, regardless of prior experience.
